Kitschy Spring Wreath

To counteract the dull gray and brown that still prevails outside in nature, I've come up with a really colorful flower wreath.

What you need: Materials

Styrofoam ring

Silk flowers

Wool

Ready-made Pom Poms (mine are by Rico Design)

Different colored pipe cleaners

Tinsel (Rico Design)

Wooden and wax beats

Glitter

Ribbon for hanging

What you need: Tools

Scissors

Hot glue gun

Craft glue, transparent drying

Clipper

Toothpick

Brush

Gardeners masking tape

Pom Pom Maker

That’s how it’s done:

Step 1:

Pinch off the flowers from the branches. Leave a piece of the stem so that you can put the flower into the Styrofoam ring later.

If you want to give your flowers a bit more glamour, you can apply glue and ...

... sprinkle them with a little glitter.

Do the same with the other flowers.

Step 2:

Wrap the toothpicks with gardeners masking tape.

Make Pom Poms with the help of the Pom Pom Maker. (You can see how it’s done in my tutorial "Mini-Pajakis".)

Stick the pom poms on the toothpicks.

Cut the pipe cleaners into pieces of different length and attach the beads to the top.

For the tinsel skewers wrap some tinsel threads around your hand ...

... pull them down carefully ...

... attach them to the toothpicks with the gardeners masking tape and…

... cut open at the top.

Attach the ribbon to the styrofoam ring with a pin.

Now you can start putting the flowers on. You have to puncture holes with a toothpick if the stems are too soft.

Your imagination knows no boundaries. I say: the more colorful, the better!
