Personal Stamps

A simple DIY project to make personalized stamps. The great thing is that the stamps are so versatile. You can make postcards, notes and wrapping paper or print on fabric. The result is infinitely variable, and yet every print is unique.

What you need:

Linocut tool

Rubber stamp

Scissors & paper

Pencil & eraser

Ink pad in different colors (the best you can get from a specialist dealer for art supplies)

That’s how it’s done:

Step 1: Create the motif

Cut a piece of paper the size of the rubber stamp and draw your motif. You should use a soft pencil so your motif can be transferred to the rubber more easily.

Step 2: Transfer motif

Place your sketch on the stamp rubber and transfer it with the help of an eraser.

If necessary, you can now correct the motif.

Step 3: Cutting

The rubber stamp can be worked on more easily than lino.

If you are unsure, do a few test cuts on the back first.

Instead of the ink pad you can also use acrylic or fabric paint.

Step 4: Print

When pressing the rubber stamp, you have to be careful to apply the pressure as evenly as possible.
